In 2011, Sam was working with a gentleman with Parkinson’s Disease who spoke at a fast rate. She wanted to trial delayed auditory feedback (DAF) with him to see if he could speak more slowly and be clearer to understand. Unfortunately, the DAF technology was bulky, fiddly, expensive and sparsely available at that time.
Garry Brady, heard Sam’s frustrations around using the old technology and decided to re-create it on a more compact, accessible and affordable device - a mobile phone. Soon, our first app, DAF Pro, was born and Sam could now trial delayed auditory feedback immediately with her patients wherever she worked.
Since then we have designed and created 4 further apps all of which greatly enhance Sam’s work as a Speech and Language Therapist and are now used in Speech Therapist clinics and in people’s homes across the world.
